It's not so smooth on a late 2013 15 inch with dedicated graphics. About 15 fps on low :(. New Macbook Pro coming within two weeks, I'll let you know.

The 2013 MBP i7 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M?
I have it running on a iMac 2012 i7, GTX680MX (2GB), settings medium to high 1440p => resulting in 25-30 as FPS (small park).
Some tweaking on the graphical settings might be impacting the FPS in a positive way.

I've been testing the new MacBook Pro 15 inch with 4GB VRAM in planet coaster and it works fine on medium settings and 1920*1200 resolution. Don't know how many fps but smooth enough. I'd say 40 fps or so.

Using MSI Afterburner you can check what your computer's bottleneck is and how to find a good balance on Gameplay-FPS-resolution-detail-animations
