So I'm planning on buying the Mac mini next summer, and I want to know if just an HDMI cable is sufficient for video and audio to work on my TV which has an HDMI input. Do I need an extra adapter for this setup? And I also wanted to know if 4GB of RAM is sufficient because I have a MacBook Pro with 8GB and I have 1.62GB free, 1.02 wired, 3.66 active. and 1.71 inactive. I'm not running much either; just watching a movie, and iTunes and Google Chrome is open. Thanks guys!

An HDMI cable will be all you will need for cables.

I would upgrade to 8GB of Kingston ram, it wouldn't cost a lot and will not hurt anything.... but if it's just for watching movies then 4GB will do.

I put 8gig of CRUCIAL ram in mine.. it was cheap enough from Ebay. Too much for my uses at present. But, its reassuring to know that as the demands placed on the machine increase 'running short' of memory is unlikely to be a problem in the medium/long term. As i've said in another post it was nice to pay £35 for the RAM when APPLE are charging 10x that: £320
