What level should I have the battery at before I turn it off? What should I keep it in, ideally?

You can keep it in a drawer or anywhere in your house. Just keep it in a place that will be room temperature and will not have any moisture near it.

The cooler the better for storage, actually, as long as there won't be any condensation. Heat is the worst thing for a battery.

Just make sure to store it with the battery percent around 50 and you should be okay.

Yes, I read that in his/her post. At the bottom of that page:

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
