Hi i new here and i want to get a mac for the first time. I want a mac for graphic and web design, beat production and video editing.

I found this mac mini and here are it's specs:

- 1.83 GHz Intel "Core 2 Duo" (T5600) processor
- 4 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) memory
- 500GB (5400 RPM, Serial ATA) hard drive
- slot-loading 8X single-layer DVD/CD-RW "Combo" drive
- Intel GMA950 graphics processor with 64 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory
- DVI (DVI-to-VGA adapter included)
- Firewire "400"
- 4 x USB 2.0 ports
- combined "optical digital audio input/audio line in" and combined "optical digital audio output/headphone" minijacks
- 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet port
- built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR

Should i just get a imac?

How much for the Mini?

If an iMac is in your budget, they're nice machines. Personally, I think that Mini would be on the slow side for what you want to do.

the mac mini is for $500

and im looking for a imac (21.5") or either a macbook pro (15") with latest stuff. My budget is only $1000 due to family issues right now and other stuff

Get the iMac, It's more money but it's way more value, you get one of the greatest Screens money can buy, some good speakers, wireless keyboard, magic mouse, webcam and that's packed in what a usual display for the Mini is.
They also have pretty great specs, I really think the iMacs are hot right now.

I got 2010 mac mini from amazon.com for $600,now waiting for my friend to bring it to me in canada.

"you get one of the greatest Screens money can buy,"

Really? You have no idea what other pro monitors are like, if you think apple screens are the best.

We just bought a new Mac Mini for my wife. Also bought the wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse, plus a Viewsonic 21.5" LED/LCD monitor, the Apple battery charger and a wall mount all it all came to less than $1000 from Amazon.

I don't know if the new Mac Mini will do what you want, but I know the iMac was not going to work for my situation (needed to hang the monitor on the wall, the small iMac is not mountable and the large one is too big).
