Hello, people!

I have a Macbook air 2017, and this week i realized that the black plastic covering the hinge is a bit loose. It does not disturb me and I dont have problems with the hinge, my screen is not loose. Only the black plastic seems to have taken off a bit. When I touch it, with the monitor closed, I realize that on one side the socket is not perfect. I think not is normal because other side is ok. So, do you think I should worry about it or isnt it a serious problem? In yours macbooks, is it pefect?

Sorry for my engish and thank you very much!!

You may have to remove the bottom cover to get it back on. If that doesn't work, you may have to remove the screen from the MacBook to fix it.

If you are not use to removing and reattaching the screen, you may be better off to leave it if it doesn't interfere with the opening and closing of the screen.

I took the authorized assistance and the genius told me it was normal. I've shot a video to show. I do not think so. What do you guys think about it?

I don't think it's normal but I definitely don't think you should try and repair it yourself as long as the machine still works.

I have two early 2015 Macbook Air. They both creak a little but it depends on how hard I press on each unit. It's a clutch cover and the clutch cover is not 100% supported from below. I think the unit is fine if everything works.

I am very sad because although this problem does not affect the performance of the computer, it is a new macbook and it bothers me to hear it whenever I touch the plastic

I know it sounds irrelevant, but I take good care of my products, and when I get to the store and realize that the Macbooks do not make that same noise, the plastic seems a lot more fixed, it makes me a little frustrated.

So it has warranty? If you don’t want to leave it this way, maybe return to the Store. With some luck, a different Genius might recognize the problem.

You’re not satisfied, they should help you out, right? I get that it’s annoying with a new machine.

(I don’t know if it’s actually a problem, or just by design).

You're comparing your Air to another Air in the store, right? I ask because you mentioned Macbook but didn't specify a model.

Yes. In my city there isnt apple store, so I took it to an authorized service center and did not have other models to compare. But I went in a reseller apple and compared with the air of some friends and in all the plastic seemed more fixed and did not make noise.
[doublepost=1531082863][/doublepost]Do you know how this plastic is fitted to the metal part? because I believe it is only a little loose, I do not think it is necessary to change the screen.
Maybe it just needs to fit in. I do not know if it is necessary just remove the cover bottom to do this or need to remove the screen. tomorrow I'll go there again
