Hi Guys, I am moving from android and generally very happy with the iPhone 12. One of the things I do miss is the Tasker app. I know the iPhone is a lot more locked down and that’s fine, but is there any way to have the phone play a custom ringtone sound when a notification contains certain keywords?

Thanks!

Depends on the source of the notification. You can add a shortcut to trigger a sound when an email, or text arrives with a keyword in the subject/message.

Yes I am referring to an email notification however the Apple Shortcuts app insists on me confirming the automation every time it happens, therefore it is not an automation at all. Something I have to manually click on is not automatic. That’s the problem I’m stuck with. I just want a sound to play when a certain email comes in, without me having to tell it that it’s OK to play the sound.

The workaround would be generating the notification a different way. Like forwarding the qualifying emails to a different email address you have setup in a different app. You can turn off everything other than sound in the app's notification settings.

Not a bad idea, thanks!
