I've always used the queues heavily in every streaming service I've used, and this is the biggest thing for me that Apple just can't seem to get right.
Pre-iOS 10, the queue would simply disappear at times (resetting the phone or just randomly).
Now, in iOS 10, it seems to have gone in the other direction. The entire queue doesn't disappear (most of the time), but seems to revert to an old state quite a bit. For example, I'll put 4 albums in the queue. I'll listen through album 3, but have to stop for some reason and use other apps on my phone. When I go back to the music app to resume listening, instead of only showing the last tracks left, the queue has reverted back to all four albums again.
Is there some setting that I'm missing to get this to work correctly? Right now, my queue just keeps growing as I add albums, but the top songs never seem to completely drop off after I listen to them, so I have to remember where I was in the queue every time I go back to listen and scroll down to the song I was on.
