Just saw this in store. It's not a playable demo. It runs within the pricing app. As soon as you life an iPad or iPhone the game video fades to show pricing. It's not installed as an app anywhere on the device.
I played it in store, it was on the demo units. Three levels and some of Bowser's castle. Pretty damn fun.
Normally I don't like runners but Nintendo usually has really good gameplay so I might try this one.
The Zelda got delayed until it became a simultaneous release on both Wii U and Switch.
Running through the list of games that I got for it... Yoshi, Star Fox (Guard is vastly better than Zero, just BTW), Rayman Legends, Kirby, Pikmin, and Toad.
I tried the demos for Mario Maker, 3D Mario Land, Splatoon, and Hyrule Warriors. None of them were appealing - I didn't waste my money on the full games
Wow we are opposites- Mario Maker, 3D World and Splatoon are some of my favourite games on the Wii U. Especially Splatoon; the most fun I've had gaming in years, along with Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros 4.
By the way, the Wii U did get 2 Zelda HD remakes at least. Wind Waker HD is one
of the best Zelda games ever.
Yes, me and another few millions of peopleIs anyone really excited about this? There are plenty of "run" games with overly-simplified controls available right now on the App Store... I guess I just can't get it up over something like this ESPECIALLY for $10.
Anything will sell more than that thing. Even a repackaged non upgradable NES...
You're under 35 years of age, aren't you?Is anyone really excited about this? There are plenty of "run" games with overly-simplified controls available right now on the App Store... I guess I just can't get it up over something like this ESPECIALLY for $10.
Yea I'm pretty disappointed in Nintendo for the wii U. They really slacked on the Mario and Zelda releases and seem to be relying on their nostalgic fans like me a little too much. I will absolutely not buy a switch no matter what due to wii U never getting its own Zelda and the half ass Mario games. I'll probably still buy this for $10 though. The Wii U's hardware is great, but it never had the software to justify the purchase. I did buy it, and I think I regret it.
I bought it assuming that it'd get a main series 3D Mario and Zelda. Mario never came at all. The Zelda got delayed until it became a simultaneous release on both Wii U and Switch.

The best games I got for it were probably the Metroid Prime trilogy (just $10 - I'd already played all three when each was new, but the series is so great and $10 was such a bargin) and Fire Emblem. Kind of sad that best games on it were just downloadable virtual console titles.
I'm hopeful that Nintendo knocks it off with having two platforms (Wii U and 3DS) and puts all of their developers to work making titles for the Switch. Hopefully they won't have another console that only gets 1-2 good games per year like they had with the Wii U.
You are not the target market.I think most of you assume we are all gamers. A lot of us are just casual gamers. So no $10 is not going to break my bank. But, $10 for a game in which the novelty of it being a Mario game will where off in a few weeks?
I think those of us who are casual gamers might think it is cool to be playing Mario on an IOS device. But after a few weeks it would just be another game you downloaded that you don't really play that often. Does that make sense?
Super Mario is what games should be like on iOS.
Currently iOS is filled with half baked dough that's aimed to pick pocket iTunes user's wallets. So much trash games, trash casino rubbish, trash gems, trash be a celebrity rubbish etc on iOS. Super Mario will usher in a higher level of game quality. Let's hope more developers embrace the spirit of Shigeru Minamoto in their work as well.
Steve Jobs would have loved Nintendo coming to iOS.
Nintendo thinks about DESIGN. They experiment and try things. Sometimes they miss the mark, but sometimes, they really get it right, so right on. Nintendo markets their new ideas, and thankfully they don't let the market develop their ideas like a lot of companies do. That's what I love about Nintendo. They go with the gut.
Wonder if this will sell more than the Wii U.
