Been building this for the past few weeks and figured this forum is exactly the audience for it.
PlayHub is a local dashboard that pulls your Mac gaming life into one place: your Steam library with what's installed where (native vs CrossOver bottles), warnings before you install games that won't run (anticheat, compatibility ratings — including WHY they fail), automatic backup of your D3DMetal shader caches so a CrossOver update doesn't mean recompiling everything, price alerts for your wishlist as macOS notifications, and it tells you honestly how a game will likely run on your specific Mac (it detects your chip, RAM and whether you're on a fanless Air).
Fair warning before anyone checks the code: I'm not a programmer. I built this together with Claude (AI), it's my first project, and I'm upfront about that after learning the hard way on Reddit that people care. It's free, open source, no money involved.
Install with Homebrew: brew install playhubhqdk/tap/playhub — or grab it from https://github.com/PlayHubHQDK/playhub (screenshots in the readme).
Would love to hear how games run on your Macs, there's literally a button in the app to report it.
