I recently made the transition to Mac from the (ugly) PC world. The one problem I've had with compatibility is playing some video files. I believe most of the problems are with AVI file types. I am hoping for some direction on what I can do to still use these files. Some of them are simple video clips from my digital camera.

Thanks!

I would recommend downloading Perian (Freeware 3rd party component for Quicktime. It lets any application that uses quicktime play these formats (and more) when inside an AVI: h.264, mpeg4, AAC, AC3 Audio, and VBR MP3. It's been great for me and I've never had any compatability issues with any file format I've encountered.
