I have movies that are wmv files for pc only.
is there anyway i can convert them and get them to play on my powerbook g4?

My understanding is that Flip4Mac will only play WMVs up to WMP9? If your files are WMP10 or 11, then I don't think Flip4Mac will handle them correctly; so, be aware of that.

i have flip and vlc, flip wouldnt open the file and vlc played it but it was all distorted and i couldnt see anything. I checked and found out you need wmp 10 or higher so i guess im S.O.L...thanks for the quick responses...if you have any other ideas let me know.

My only other thought would be to get Virtual PC, install Windows XP, and WMP 10. I have parallels set up on my Intel iMac just for this purpose.

u can still install windows media player for mac, its not universal, its slow, but it still works.

Windows Media for Mac will only play Windows Media 9 files, so its the same boat as the other pieces of software.

oh yea..that was the first thing i tried..still no luck

i tried converting to divx but that didnt work either, oh well i guess im running out of options
