Playing PS3 games on macbook screen

Good morning,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use your macbook screen to play PS3 games on without purchasing the EyeTv 250 plus? As this is quite expensive, I was interested to know if there was a cheaper way.

Not really, to display such a video stream with no appreciable lag requires quite fancy and expensive hardware, there is no way to jack straight into your macbooks LCD.

No, and the EyeTV 250 Plus is not a good solution either. There's still way too much lag even in game mode. You'd be better off getting a cheap 1080p display that you can also use with your MacBook.

No, you can only get video out of a macbook via mDP/TB. The iMac 27" is the only mac to support video input via mDP/TB.
