My wife likes to play WOW on her laptop with the video settings set really high. That makes the fan run constantly. She doesn't mind the fan noise. Is it okay to run it for considerable lengths of time like this?

Yes, just make sure you don't block the vents. If it gets too hot, it'll protect itself by turning off.

Sounds normal :D

Thanks for the input. TheFarmer, your tag line says you have the same MBP but I only have 4 gig of RAM. With RAM prices coming down I'm considering going to 8 gig to run Parallels with more RAM. Did you ever have 4 gig and expand to 8? If so, did you notice much of a change?

I started out with 4GB just as you have. I'm not an extremist. So I may run Parallels with WM7 and OS X but it's nothing extreme. I will tell you now. I didn't need it, I "wanted" it. Do I like having 8GB, yes. I love it, why? Cause I can tell all my farmer friends I have 8GB of gawd damn RAM. They have 1 or 2 from the XP which they are still at. I love farmers.
