So I e had this service for about 2 years, it’s already gone from $45 to $55 per month. That’s a 22% increase in 2 years. Inflation would be what, about 5% in that time? But thank god they have the baby channel or whatever it is now, I guess I shouldn’t complain.

Your time is up Sony, you got too greedy.

Cord-Cutting never did match my cable plan. I tried multiple services, but once you add on features and channels like HBO, it's really not worth it when you still have to pay for internet. And when the internet goes out, I can still watch TV.

So basically creeping back towards the cost of standard cable. I'm shocked that this is happening. No one could have seen this coming.
Yep. The "it's a bundle of channels and we're way less than cable" was intriguing when some of them had prices closer to $20/mo. At these prices (and with continual price creep), they're heading towards making themselves be the very thing they were originally a reaction to. Not interested. There's one or two channels I'd be interested in, but there's no way I'm paying $40-50 a month to get those couple channels, no matter how much they trumpet that "it's a bargain for all these channels".

We would use about 3 cable channels plus local which we can get all but one network OTA. If streaming let's you pick channels like that and pay for what you want, it will beat cable. Otherwise it isn't much better.

Worse than cable with the price tweaks. Coming from someone who has not cut the cord yet...i really need to cut it.

Why? Cable is probably the best value out there now, especially with bundling multiple services (TV, Internet and Phone).

These streaming services are becoming total ripoffs.

You guys in the States get ripped off. In the Netherlands we can get 100/100 fiber internet + standard TV package for as low as $ 50/month including taxes. If you want all paid-channels it's hard to get over 75 bucks here. Of course you guys have more TV channels in the States, but do you watch them all?

I kind of figured that these price increases were inevitable. But as some others mentioned, it's super easy to cancel a streaming service than having to go through [insert cable company of choice here] canceling through your provider.

I'm still on Directv Now for $45/month with HBO included, but that discount expires in a couple weeks. But even when it goes up to $55/month, I still can't really beat that with other streaming services with HBO included.

Not sure why this article lists Sling's pricing after promotional discounts, whereas none of the others include any discounts for new users.
