Hey guys,

Im clueless to this whole ESN thing and just want to make sure im doing things right before I proceed to activate my new phone.

I currently have the blk VIP4 and just purchased the white VIP4 today at full price.

1 When i activate white VIP4 in iTunes will blk VIP4 be ok to sale to another person without making the ESN bad?

2 once the phone is sold, do I need to do anything else?

3 Also, if a potential buyer requests the phone's ESN in advance, can I give to them without worrying about negative repercussions?

My understanding is Verizon only flags ESNs when something is not paid on the account, or it was reported stolen. It should be fine to sell. I wouldn't give out the ESN though. Couldn't that person report the phone stolen, and then the phone would stop working too.

The account holder would have to report the phone as stolen. It's fine to give out the ESN, but I would not post it publicly.
