The iPhone4 is beautiful. Entire teams of designers & engineers have worked to make it thin and attractive. Why would I want to cover it up and make it thicker with some cheap rubber case? I've had every iPhone with no case and when I'm done with them after a year they look great.

I've just never understood the phone case. Do you wrap your expensive beautiful car in a giant rubber case? What about that Rolex watch, did you buy a plastic skin to cover it? Every time I see someone with an iPhone in a case I wonder if their sofa at home is covered in plastic.

I don't care if Jobs is buying me a $0.10 bumper, I'm not using it. I'm just going to hold it differently. Cuz I'm a fanboy and I'd rather hold my phone funny than use a phone case.

The iphone 4g cases look better than the older cases IMO. The new phone is not as comfortable to hold for me so I added a case and Im very pleased. I would keep it on even without the reception issue.

Because this is the best solution Apple has available at the moment? Granted, I wouldn't want one of those cases either but what else can you do if you want to use an iPhone 4 and you have issues?

I like to protect my investments...

If a cheap rubber case isn't for you then this would be perfect

The vapor is like putting BBS LM's on your new expensive beautiful car

+1. Use a skin. I always have. Only on the back and sides, not the screen. It helps prevent scratching and damage to the sides and back. And it adds a little bit of grip which helps but doesn't make it stick going in and out of your pocket. It won't eliminate attenuation but it will help. And it won't take away from the beautiful aesthetics. Most people won't even see it.

I've always used BSE - Bestskinsever. Back and sides is $5.99 and easy to put on. But all the skins are very similar.

Well, that is your choice OP. For me, the iPhone 4 feels too slippery and I'm worried about dropping it. So I am using the iFrogz luxe case. And using a case has solved the antenna issue for me.

OP, do you even have reception problem with this iPhone compared to the older versions or are you just making an argument?

We've heard from a number of people who bought the original iPhone and had to return it because of crappy at&t reception in their area. Likewise, someone who bought the 3G/3GS and immediately put it in a case aren't going to know any better.

Same reason I have always worn condoms. There will be fewer problems. duh ;)

EDIT: I thought I was such clever squirt with my post, but post #3 and #11 beat me to it. I was premature in thinking I was the only one with a dirty mind.

The case is used to protect your shiznit when you drop it.

Sure it looks gross but having a dented, cracked, and scratched iPhone 4 looks uglier than the ugly suit you use to wrap it up in.

Ugly rubber suit is relative, folks

I kind of like this one.

I've already dropped my iPhone 4 (w/bumper) once and it won't be the last time that will happen. I'm convinced that the bumper saved it from irreparable damage.....

Like my dad used to say....

Son, just remember.... No glove, no love...

very nice...wish jobs said this today!!

and i think the 'cheap' black bumper dont look that bad, and it protects the edges from ding's. it does provide better reception. im glad to get my $30 back too. love apple.
