Please help cant do software update after upgrading to leopard

I bought leopard today, and once i did an archive and install, all my apps work fine. except, i cant do a software update. to upgrade to 10.5.2

I keep getting the message

softwareupdate can't connect to the internet, make sure you are connected to the internet then try again.

i run network diagnostics, set the location to automatic,connect via airport, it recognises my hub, type in my password, then i get the message.

network change detected

your network configuration has changed, click ok to proceed to the next step.

then i just go back to the screen asking my to type in my password.

is there any resolve to this.

i cann connect to the internet fine though
i never had these problems with tiger.

If you're already getting problems, I recommend backing up, then Erase&Install
