Hi there - was wondering if someone could offer some much needed advice...

I recently acquired an emac with a burnt tube. I have an LG Flatron monitor and the adaptor to hook it up to the computer, but when I turn it on I get a message that says:

    Out of Range
    71.9kHz / 89Hz

Can anyone tell me how to fix this without being able to see anything? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If it helps, I currently have the emac connected to my older imac - so I can see it as a drive.

    Thanks in advance...

    Thank you Jah...I'm so Blessed
Have you tried hooking up the external to your imac and setting the external to the desired setting?

Check the setting on the external monitor itself.

You may need to hook the eMac up first to an external CRT style monitor and make the refresh rate 60 Hz. The eMac uses an unusually high standard refresh, and the LG panel appears to be telling you it cannot handle it.

Thanks guys - I think CanadaRAM is correct. Unfortunately I don't have another monitor here. I'll have to lug the emac to work on Monday unless there's some way of accessing that refresh rate by plugging the emac into my imac...
