Please help! Contacts missing since icloud sync

Hi all

I'm really not good with this sort of thing so need help!

I just updated to ios 5. Everything was ok until I turned on iCloud, then turned on contacts. As soon as I did that all my contacts disappeared. I turned contacts off in iCloud but still nothing. I've just plugged phone in and synced it but assuming I have to restore it. It says my last back up was 02/09 on computer and obviously today at 2040 on iCloud. I'm pretty sure it's not relevant but the only other thing I did was went into settings, twitter and update contacts...

What do I do?? I don't want to just restore without someone helping me incase I lose everything.

Hi again

Just wanted to add that I've tried turning contacts in iCloud on an off again. Turned iPhone off and on too and still nothing.

I really need help as like I said im rubbish with all this and have no clue. Scared of restoring as not sure what it'll restore it to!
