Please help. G4 Powerbook HD Format

Ok so im helping a friend out and formatting his hd from his g4 powerbook and so i have the os disc in the drive and restart the computer and while holding down "c" on restart it comes up with the messege below. The other prb is the previous owner before my friend forgot there admin password so i cant start the format from the os because it asks for the admin password before restart. Thank you very much and any help would be nice.

Are you using the restore disc that came with the PB? The crash looks like the sort you might end up with if you used another machine's restore disk (different model).

If available, try a retail Tiger or Leopard install disc.
