If this is the wrong place to post please point me in the right direction.

Anywho tonight I was browsing the web and came upon a popup that said something along the lines of "Your flash player requires an update" and me being half asleep remembered that Apple did force an update recently.

Well I downloaded the file and went through almost all the motions but did notice a few odd things. First it started asking me if I wanted to change my default search engine to Yahoo "Huh?" I thought but brushed it off as Yahoo just trying to get a bigger footprint. Then I started getting other addon options that I just kept clicking skip to. Pretty soon before I even started an install happened and I was left with a screen saying successfully installed. I found this odd and then suddenly it hit me... I installed something that was unofficial and possibly sketchy.

Like I said I was half asleep and not of clear mind. I can't believe this happened. I'm usually the first one who tells there friends "Just be smart and don't install anything that looks off." Ugghhh!!!!

Is there anyone out there who wants to peek at the file and tell me what it may have installed? I completely stopped using my Macbook until I can figure this out. Do any known visures, malware of keyloggers exist?

I clicked Skip on every option given, never clicked yes to anything.

Like I said I've lurked for a while but suddenly found a reason to post. I'm sorry if I seem sketchy. I'm just a person looking for answers

I removed the link to your file to prevent other forum members from infection if there is malware in the file.

From your description it does sound like you likely installed some adware that was embedded in that installer.

Trying running this adware scanner and see what it turns up.
