please help!!! ip4 went to the usb plug to itunes???

it just randomly is making me plug my ip4 into itunes now. and itunes is making me restore. am i going to lose my jailbreak? i have pkgbackup and have shsh my 4.0.1. i have never done this before. what do i need to do???

need step by step please
 
What did you do? You can use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of restore mode now without a restore and you'll still have your jailbreak.

i have no idea! i went to pick my ip4 up and it had powered off i thought so i held the power button down to turn it back on and it came up with this screen. my heart just sank. i just did a lot of stuff to it tonight. will i lose all of that? i changed facetime to sexytime and those sweet lockscreens.

do i just plug my phone in and click tss in tinyumberella? ive never used it but the once to save shsh? in tinyumberella it says it detected recovery mode.

Try clicking 'kick device out of recovery mode' in TinyUmbrella.
 
so i clicked kick device out of recovery mode and it came back to the same plug into itunes screen on my ip. what can i do? HHHEEELLLLPPPPP.
 
Do I Leave It Pluged In The Whole Time Or Just After Clicking Kick Device Out Of Recovery?

Well if you knew what cause this you could have SSH'd in to fix it. Your best option is to restore to 4.0.1 and restore from a backup made before the problem started and rejailbreak.
 
its not working. what can i do? i just atleast want to get my 4.0.1 back and jailbreak again. pkgbackup has all of my cydia apps and sources saved right?

Download the 4.0.1 firmware from here. On Windows hold shift then press restore in iTunes and choose the firmware file you downloaded. On mac I think its alt or option and press restore.

what do you mean? i have no idea why this happened? it was working fine and i didnt do anything in the last hour to it. when i plug it into itunes it says i must restore before using with itunes. then it askes if im sure i want to restore and update. the update part scares me.

so im d/l the file now. in itunes when its down d/l hit option restore and select the file i just d/l?

once this works, cross fingers, rejailbreak and cydia should have my files saved for me?

i just dont know whats the point of the tinyumberella if i have to redo all of this now. thanks guys

Yes just restore from the firmware file you download. TinyUmbrella is needed for restoring to a firmware Apple isn't signing anymore.
 
so its doing its thing, can i afterwards restore from my backup yesterday? what would you do to get all of your cydia stuff back?

Restore from your backup and use pkgbackup like you said you have. How exactly it works I don't know as I don't own it but you can google for instructions if you need them

thanks so much!!! im sure you have been irritated with me tonight. this just really scared the cr*p out of me.
 
so i restored and everything looked good till i rejailbroke and rebooted and it froze on the apple logo. so now im restoring again. whats wrong?

also does installous app snc back from itunes? or should i just delete them because they came up with an error last time trying to sync them back on.
