Hi All, so brought my iphone X back from tennis club was using it around swimming pool couple of splashes here and there but it did not go under water.

Went home and screen had flashing apple logo, I got it working, and then had the white screens saying 'swipe up to upgrade' must have been a software issue. HOWEVER since then it says "face ID not available at this time" and in settings it says "a problem was detected with the true depth camera. Face ID has been disabled".

Now I have an appointment now to replace my battery of my iphone x tomorrow at apple store, should I mention this to them and they can fix this also at same time as replacing battery, does anyone know the cost and if its fixeable?

Cheers

I'll bet they mention it to you when they do inspection when you check in. They'll make sure no other issues are present before the repair. I'll bet they won't replace the battery unless you have them fix the FaceID issue as well..

I have a bigger issue now my phone when locked or in use randomly crashes with black background and white apple logo- i then have to wait for it to load to home screen . This is software issue right?

I would do a restore using iTunes (or DFU restore) and don't use your backup to see if everything starts working again. Sounds like software to me and the restore will isolate the software side of the equation...

You can do a backup before you restore just in case it doesn't fix your problems.. Sometimes your backup can become corrupt so if you restore using your backup, the problem will still persist. That's why you need to restore the device as new without your backup to see if its software or hardware that's causing the issue. You can always restore again using your backup to see if the problem returns or if setting up as new doesn't get rid of the problems. Then you'll be right back where you started from and you know its a hardware issue
