    HI,

Just got a new iPhone 3Gs and tried to jailbreak with the pwnage tool.

All seemed to be going fine, but I didn't turn off or put it in dfu mode before restoring, now it won't turn on and won't let me restore.

What do I do??? Please help :(:(

If you have a new 3GS, you probably have the new bootrom which means you will have a tethered jailbreak. Everytime you need to reboot or restart your phone, you will have to have a computer, USB cable and copy of Blackra1n to restart the phone. If not, the phone will not come back on at all.

You should do plenty of reading and research and be sure you want to get into that handicap.

Gotta do sufficient research before attempting these things.

    PeeJack,

your phone wont "not turn on" the blank screen and what seems to be a none responsive iPhone is actually an iPhone in DFU mode.

like the poster above me said, read up fully and fully understand the risk before JB'n. this site will help u a ton if u use it's search and users correctly I would encourage you to first research Jailbreaking, then research dev-team and pwnage tool before going ahead and JB'n your phone. But by all means I suggest u still jailbreak the phone u will love it when u do.

Don't let your first attempt scare you. There are many of us, yours truly included, that spent weeks reading and researching the techniques before attempting the jb for the first time. I was either smart, or lucky, because I've now done the jb on 3 versions of the OS and have never (KOW) had a problem.

You'll love your phone even more after you jailbreak it.

Here's a thought though...Get to know your stock iPhone for a few weeks. You'll appreciate the jailbreak even more after that.

Since you probably have the new bootrom which makes keeping a JB phone working much more difficult, it comes down to:

Do you want a reliable phone which will always restart as long as there is some juice in the battery

    or

Do you want a "gizmo" that requires a computer, USB cord and copy of Blackra1n to restart everytime.
