    Hello.
I wonder if anyone can help identify the missing component from this A1278 logic board?
I have read other post's on this well informed website but was unable to see clearly in any of the photographs the number of this thing which I believe is a double diode or transistor. In one picture I think I can possibly see 'KHP....' or maybe the K is an 'X', I really can't be sure.
This board was in a pretty bad way but I think I have recovered it enough to give this a shot if any of you kind folk can help?
I enclose a picture to show the one I'm referring to.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Phill Thorne.

may be it is late but I have your data needed, I have the same board (and I looking for another pick away SMD component) and I found your question. The thing say KNP and vertically Y1 I can`t find what is it but I have the schematic and may be you have more skills to find it.
Actually I am looking for this SMD diode or transistor component in A1278

Hi- Attached is a figure with the back and front of a A1278 (2012) logic-board. Grateful if someone could please help me locate the SMC chip (U4900) and, if possible, the Thermal Sensor (T29). My fan is constantly running flat-out (>6000RPM) but temperature, are fine. Many thanks and a Merry xMas.
