Hey everyone! I have a 13.3" White Macbook that was purchased back in august of 06. I had a 60gig hard drive which failed on my this past weekend (i did some research and I think I had one of the faulty ones). Since then I have installed a new Western Digital 250 gig Hard drive. About a month before my hard drive went i was having random shut downs very frequently probably 4-5 times a week. After I got a new HDD i came here to read up on the issue and a lot of people were saying that random shut downs were a known 'symptom' of an upcoming hard drive failure.

Well it's been 5 days since I installed a new one and i just had a random shut again. my battery power was at 60%. My battery health is 42% with 310 cycles. Could this just be a fluke because my battery is going down hill or is this a serious issue that i should look into? I have all my things backed up but its just that I dont have the money to shell out for another repair.

Thanks!

If your battery reaches 300 cycles its time for a replacement but not sure it
will sort your issues

Doesn't sound good. Might be logic board.

Your MacBook is no longer under warranty? Always get them on your laptops...

You might want to try:
- reset PRAM
- reset SMU

thanks for your input! How would i go about resetting the PRAM and SMU?

I'm gonna be going to the apple store tomorrow around 12 to meet with a genus... should i just wait and let them look at it?
