Its also important which case (if any) are you planning to use with a phone. I really liked Pine green and how Midnight green camera bump colour matched with it. If you use Apple silicon or leather case, colour (shade) of camera bump is more important than the rest of the back of the phone.

I'm getting a Pro Max tomorrow and I'm still struggling on what colour to get. I'm usually a Space Grey guy but this year I've narrowed it down to the Silver or Midnight Green. Any thoughts? I know it's personal preference, but I'm so on the fence about it.

Thanks!
Love my silver think it looks better personally...think midnight green looks too close to space grey

I got the silver pro max and love it, but I agree your color choice could depend on what color/style case you might want to use (if any). I went with silver because I’m using a case that is partially transparent and I though the silver/white looked the best with that case.

I have a silver Pro Max but that’s just because it’s the color I like best.

if I were you I’d get the Midnight Green before the novelty wears off - and it’s the first new flagship color that isn’t tacky as hell (see gold, rose gold)

I'm an Apple leather case guy. I'll go midnight blue or saddle brown. That yellow one is nice too.

If you're buying a Pro the correct answer is a non-max silver with brown leather case. Thread closed. You're welcome.

have this exact same thing...starting to patina as well which makes it look even better

95% of the time, I don't use a case.

I tried silver, and I loved the back: it was so much prettier than my silver X, and I love how the camera cutout looks. However, I didn't like the shiny stainless band: it kept glaring out at me, and it's only shiny when you take it out of the box or for a brief instant after wiping it off. The rest of the time, it's just a smudge-fest. The darker colors are smudgy, too, but they don't show very much. Also, I'm not looking at the back very much even though I carry without a case, and the appeal wore off for me during the 14 days. If you use a case, you have more color options with silver.

I settled on Midnight Green: I really like the color, and in some lighting, it looks gray, so I feel like I have two colors. I had a gold XS Max, so this is a nice change.

Both are beautiful.

I'm also on the fence!! Going to be getting an 11 Pro soon & can't decide, lol. I've seen both in stores as well, & still 50 /50!!

I currently have the X in silver & previously had the silver w/ the white bezels, so thats been my to go color....but I also really like the midnight green (and would pair it with a pine silicone case)

For those that have the MG, how does well / strong is the coating? I'm not super crazy concerned about scratches, but I know the silver can be polished (I've never done it, but I just like that the option is there, lol) & they don't show up as much because it tends to blend in....not sure what MG would look like.

How bad does a scratch on something like MG stand out or on something with coating?

If it looks similar to a silver scratch, I'll be all good....if it's something that stands out, I may lean toward silver.

For previous iPhones I've always picked SG (similar to MG) because it looks dark and classy while the silver looked white and less premium. To my eyes everything changed this year when Apple made the back matte. The frosted back completely changes the tone of SG and silver. Instead of looking dark the SG seems to look much lighter and "dirty." It certain bright lighting it even looks brown. Meanwhile, the silver looks less white and has more of a translucent silver-ish glow, in certain lighting, that looks very premium. For this year's iPhone I went with silver for the first time in my life and it looks fantastic. Color is very personal and it really helps to handle the phones in a brightly lit Apple store to see for yourself. My advice is not to depend on what you prefer with previous models because, as previously mentioned, the matte finishe completely changes the look.

OP you should have made a poll. Anyways, my vote goes to silver. It's more versatile and if you dress your phone up with a case the silver steel bands pop out in a very fancy manner.

Personally I would still go space gray because that's my default color since the 2008 iPod came out.

I wasn’t expecting this kind of response! I wish I had made a poll now!

YAY! Show us a picture! What are your first impressions? Did you buy any accessories with it? I am thinking of getting a new iPhone Pro white with a white Apple Watch Ceramic, they would go well together.

I never quite understand why people want us to make their personal decisions for them.

How hard can it be? You either like the silver or want to try something different and go with the green.

You could have done something absolutely mental and visited a phone/Apple store and saw them for yourselves in the flesh to make a choice. I know that sounds ridiculous though.

I was waiting for a reply like this, I'm actually quite surprised it took this long.

If you took a minute to read my replies you would have seen that I said I've gone to see them in person several times. I just wanted some unbiased opinions from a forum of members who's opinions I respect.

To be honest it was the replies on this forum that made me choose Silver (accessorizing cases will be easier).
I guess a better question would be the subject was pretty clear, why did you open the thread in the first place? You clearly didn't want to contribute positively to the conversation so why bother joining it in the first place? I don't understand people like you, but maybe that's a good thing.

Anyways, maybe you need some fresh air or a nice long walk to gain some perspective. Life's too short to be spewing negativity on an online forum for Apple enthusiasts who like to chat about their affection for Apple products.

To the rest of you, thanks for your kind words and helpful advice. Very much appreciated.

Having had midnight green, space gray and silver, I highly recommend silver. It’s a stunner. In love with it.
