Hi Guys, please can someone give me an idiots step by step guide with the following problem.
My hard drive crashed in my macbook pro (2012) running 10.8.3.

I have replaced the hard drive with a new 500g hard drive and now want to install 10.8.3 again. I have had this laptop from new but it did not come with any install discs.

Can you please take me thru the procedure starting from, turning on the laptop for the first time with the replacement drive installed.

    Many thanks

    Vince

Do you have a Time Machine back up from the old hdd? Or did you clone it before it crashed? Have you tried running Disk Utility on the old HDD via the cmd+R bootup command?

Thanks for this answer. I just was not sure that if the laptop had a new drive in it, that it would be able to find and use the cmd-r instructions.:)
