iPod touch please help me

my ipod video got washed a few weeks ago. today i bought a 3rd gen 32g ipod touch. i just got today so i have no idea on the most efficient way to do this. its an ipod touch 32g 3gs firmware 2.2.1.

whats the best program to use, and what version should i get jailbroken?

Are you sure you're on 2.2.1? Cos I don't think the 3rd gen iPod touch came with 2.2.1
