please help my mac book died

i bought it on Oct... the screen all of a sudden turned black and even after turning on/off again screen is black... there is a question markon folder sign in the middle of black screen flashing and thats about it.. any ideas

I think the HD is dead, call Apple for a replacement.

Sounds like something is corrupt - have you tried booting from the Mac OS X setup disc and running disc utility?

Yah most likely a dead HD. Although I would try booting into target disc mode to back up your data 🙂
