Please help my quicktime troubles!

after being told that you cant record dual audio on quicktime (the screen recorder specifically in this case) and that any contemporary screen recorder costs £60 odd, which is WAY over my budget, i decided to get some wires and fix the problem manually. I have a splitter in the audio out connected to my headphones and a jack to jack going into the audio in. But just because the world hates me, my turtle beaches send the microphone audio through a USB! Im getting very frustrated, especially since I remember somehow managing it before. If its not clear already I want to record system audio AND microphone audio simultaneously. Thanks for any help provided
