Ok so we have our first group project to do - a short film. The thing is, we can hardly make a good enough idea for our project. So this is what we have right now - an autocorrect idea. So a guy sits in front of a computer. He's just having an ordinary chat with his girlfriend until something weird happens. Instead of writing something serious to his girlfriend, the computer autocorrects his words to all kinds of sexual jokes. His girlfriend does not like that. They start arguing on chat ant then BAM! The dude's ex girlfriend comes out of his pc. Starts saying all kinds of love things to him and then he wakes up from his nightmare (he was probably having a dream this whole time) in front of his ex girlfriend.

This whole thing sounds really weird and the idea does not make any sense. So please, if you have anything in mind, please share. Our whole group would really appreciate the help and your support.

hm..., depicting a chat sounds not very "filmic". but anyway, go for it, usually it's not the ideas that matter (after all, they are a dime a dozend) but what you make of it.

i don't really get the story... first he's chatting with his gf, and then it's about his ex? how do we (the viewers) know, that this new girl is his ex? on the other hand... this sounds like dream-logic to me. so if you can give the viewer a sense of that (think: david lynch), it could work just fine.

I see it as a voice over, basically write and record the entire thing as if he was talking to himself while chatting. Basically the actor would have to act the words of the dialog while he can pretend he is typing. Then you can add scenes of the computer screen later on. But literally, the guy typing could be just one long take. You can work photography and lighting just fine.
