Hi everyone. I have both my old iPad 2 and iPhone on 8.3 both JB. I bought a new iPad Air 2. The software is version it came with is 8.2. I was really hoping for 8.3. Can I restore the new iPad Air 2 from my old IPad 8.3 backup from iTunes or will I have to update to 8.4? which I don't want.

Because the music thing is too complicated. I'm older and it's hard for me to learn new things. So can I restore from my iPad 8.3 backup? I use family sharing and they took it away in 8.4.

SAMs club must have sent me an old one with 8.2. It is the 64gb cellular model.

No, cant use a newer backup file to restore to an older ios version.
Unless you use icloud to restore from backup.

What do you mean? So when I set it up if I pick iCloud restore from backup it will update it to the 8.3 from 8.2?
