I've got an 2.66ghz Intel iMac. It's only ever had one user for it until today and since creating another one certain keyboard commands aren't working.

For example if I try to delete a file using the delete key it doesn't work.

It works fine when I'm in an application, such as Firefox but when in Finder it doesn't.

Please help!

go to

system preferences>keyboard and mouse>keyboard shortcuts

and set whatever you like.
if you had custom shortcuts set in your first account, those will not automatically get passed on to a new user account, you will have to manually create them again.
as for delete in the finder, this has never been an option for me, it doesn't do anything.
