Please help with Automator issue

I currently have a Media folder with my movies on it, i.e,

Media Folder
-Movie01.mkv
-Movie02.mkv
-Movie03.mkv

I want to use Automator to create a folder and name it the same as the file it encompasses, i.e,

Media Folder
-Movie01
--Movie01.mkv
-Movie02
--Movie02.mkv
-Movie03
--Movie03.mkv

Any help would be much appreciated!

Do this have to be automator, you could knock up a shell script to do this just as well 🙂

No, it doesn't have to be done with Automator. I just know nothing about Shell Scripts.

Ill knock up a quick script tonight that will do this. Are you comfortable running scripts from the command line?

I guess it could also be done in AppleScript, I will take a look 🙂
