I'm on my very first Mac, a MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I'm trying to download iTunes 10.7.

I currently am using iTunes 10.6.3. I've tried updating two ways:

1) Software Update- Under the Apple logo in Finder
2) Check For Updates in iTunes App

When I use Software Update I am getting an error photo below

When I use iTunes App I am told iTunes 10.6.3 is the current version photo below

I guess i can go to the iTunes webpage and download from there. But will that clean install erase all my music from my drive?

nope

No, it won't erase your music.

But if you're having a problem upgrading with software update, just wait. There's nothing in the new iTunes you'd need right now, unless you're an iOS 6 dev.

Same problem here. Must be a bug on the Apple side. Just wait a day or so...

you'll get it eventually. Mine wasn't in the update list earlier. But it has since appeared, downloaded and installed.

Besides, theres no rush for it at the moment. Its not going to offer anything new to anyone until iOS 6 is released in a few days.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by logging onto my wife's profile and shutting down iTunes and then logging back on to my profile and App store update went through fine.
