Hi all - my relationship with iTunes is something I've always struggled with, today is no exception, please help.

Currently there is some music on my iPhone X. It's been there for probably a year so I don't remember what I did in iTunes to get it there, I want to change it now but I'm struggling to make it happen. I've also changed computers which might factor into this.

The first screenshot shows music on my iPhone. I can play these albums fine.
The second screenshot shows iTunes but it appears to be blank.
So I can't work out how to remove the music from my iPhone X

Can anyone help please?

Chances are that none of that music is "on" your iPhone. If you have Apple Music, the titles are there but the song data itself is probably streamed. That might explain why iTunes shows no music.

But no matter, to remove them from your iPhone Library, 3D Touch on any of those albums to delete them.

How exactly was it added? If with third-party app than it may be hidden for iTunes. Do you see it with iMazing for example (just check with free version)?

I don't have a subscription with Apple, I believe they are on the device as they play when in Airplane mode. I didn't know about the 3D touch, thanks for the tip.

The music was added using iTunes, I've never used a 3rd party application with the iPhone. Although it was iTunes on a computer which isn't available any more (I upgraded).

I would still double-check with iMazing trial just in case (free so nothing to loose). There's a chance that Media Library db was corrupted, and in this case your tracks will be grayed out in the app.
