Hi everyone,

I know this has probably been asked a few times, but I searched and couldn't find anything pertaining to it. So I apologize and I don't need to be flamed. Well, now that that's out of the way, here is my problem.

I have a macbook and I was running Onyx and I accidentally ran 'clean-up' instead of maintenance. The question is this, is there anyway that I can go back to the state my mac was in prior to running this clean up by accident? If I could somehow go back to a previous time that on the hard drive that would be perfect. I used to own a PC and I know I could do it on that, but I am not that familiar with my Mac yet, and I would like to solve this problem that I have created for myself. Thanks to everyone for the help!!:D

Why do you want to go back? Is the system feeling more sluggish since you clean up in Onyx?

If that's the case then it's perfectly normal, Onyx deleted a lot of log and preference files (and probably the Spotlight Index) which are now being created as you use OSX so it's perfectly normal for you to feel that the OS seems less snappier. Just bear with it a few hours and it should be up and running better than it was before.

Anyway, after the Onyx restart you should restart again.

I hope that is the problem and that the explanation is able to help, and don't worry, I doubt someone will flame you for such a non-offensive post. If what I said has nothing to do with what you're experiencing please be a little more specific about what the problem is as more people will be able to help :)

And welcome to the forums!

Hi, I wanted to go back because when I ran ONYX, it deleted some files that I wanted to keep. I have been looking around and I am beginning to think that I might not be able to get anything back. Live and learn I guess....unless someone ask a miracle solution:p
