iPod please help

why does i tunes want to keep checking all 5000 songs on my 60g Photo when i plug in?? its annoying this is a pain in the a%% any help??? 😕 😕 😱

I believe it checks the play counts of the songs on your iPod, to update them in iTunes, or if a playlist has changed in iTunes, it implements the appropriate changed on your iPod.

You can probably disable this feature in the preferences when you plug it in next time, I think, but not sure, don't have my iPod with me...

if my ipod battery is WAY LOW does this have something to do with it????
