iPod touch Please, I am Desperate.

Alright, i was foolish enough to download the Summer Board 2.11 and now my screen is messed up
-yes i searched and know my options are SSh the old one but i dont want to do it because i think i'll mess up
i know the other option is restore i forcer restore like it says holding menu n sleep for 20secs till the tunes connector came
my itune recognized that it was in restore and started restore
but it says restore and update then i have to download the 150mb touch 1.1.1
is ABSOLUTELY necessary to download the update or is there another way

please any help is appreciated

just unistall springboard and then you have to install it manually. Copying files via SSH is the easiest way to install it. The installer for springboard in the installer app makes your dock go to the top .
