    Hi all!

While playing World of Warcraft on my late 2008 unibody MBP I've been occasionally experiencing hard crashes where the screen goes black and the computer locks up. The only thing I can do at that point is to shut off the machine by holding down the power button.

I've copied the reports from a few crashes and will paste them here. I'd like very much if someone could explain what they mean and tell me if there's something I can do to fix it or if I need to take my computer in for repairs while it's still under warranty.

    Thanks in advance!

    Machine details:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.53 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 6 MB
    Memory: 4 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP51.007E.B05
    SMC Version (system): 1.33f8

And now a few crash reports:

That in your Kernel Panic log shows you that it was your graphics causing it. Whether its the hardware side of the software side of things, I'm not sure.

Looks like the Nvidia driver is trying to change the display resolution. Have you tried checking to see if you have the latest software via software update? Games are notorious for having graphics card issues.

Thanks for your replies so far!

My software/drivers are all completely up-to-date and have been for the life of my machine as I'm kinda anal about it. :D

My wife has the exact same computer (we bought two at the same time) but has never experienced similar crashes while playing World of Warcraft.

Does this help at all with diagnosis?
