Have you seen the reviews? It's pretty much confirmed base models are slower. Also, speeds won't be affected on 512GB+ storage options.
Yes,

So far, I've seen 1TB SSD has speeds up to 2800 R/W
That's 1/2 of the top speeds from the 14 & 16.2 MBP 2TB SSD from last year
I have a 4TB SSD for a 16.2 MBP that clocked 5600 R/W

You will never see those speeds in real life. No file is so big that will allow you to feel the time saved. What you should care about are the Random 4K @ QD1 speeds. Those are the ones that actually matter.

Sequential speeds are worthless in everyday computing.

Tom’s Guide: “On the Blackmagic Disk Speed test, the new Air’s 1TB SSD on our model averaged 2,800 MBps for reads and 2,210 for writes. That’s slower than the same size 1TB SSD on the MacBook Pro M2 at 2,794 MBps/2,953 MBps, respectively, for reads and writes.”
