I am wondering if you all can help me out. I went to Compusa today to check out the new ibook, but of course, they were out and they did not have floor model. I am going to order a 12" Apple laptop today, and the ibook is the only one I have not seen. So, if anyone can snap a quick pic for me, I would appreciate it! Thanks.

I wouls still say eBay. Apple.com gives very limited pictures and views of the iBook. Also, they take the pictured of the iBook in perfect lighting, so it doesn't look quite the same.

while kind of an obvious answer, did you try apple.com?

My DOH post was to latergator. Yes, I had been to apple.com, but the pictures do not look like real life pictures. They look cartoonish. Ebay had tons of good pics, thanks for the help!

If you need more let me know. I have one at home I could take some snapshots of if you need.

You also have a 12" PB, right? I may be confusing you with someone else. Anyway, if you do, please take comparison pics if you get a second. But only do so at your convenience. Thanks.

I have a TiBook, and my wife has the 12" G4 iBook. I'll snap some pics when I get home tonight. Any aspects of it you are particularly interested in?

A thickness shot, I want to see how thick it is compared to the PB. Now, your PB will be a little thinner then the 12" PB I am looking at, but it will still help me guage the thickness. Compusa just called me and they have an ibook in now. But, they will not open it up unless I want it. I can understand because I would not want an open box, but still, they need a display model.

LOL....no problem man. Anytime. Are you getting rid of the PB, or just adding a new laptop?

It is significantly thicker. I'm guessing by at least a quarter inch. But it is also far sturdier than my TiBook. No flexing when you hold it from an edge.

Yeah, I just sold it on ebay. I am going back to school, so I needed the portability. So I sold it and had enough to order a 17" 1.25 imac for the house and an G4 800 ibook or a refurb 12" 867PB. I am still deciding between the ibook and PB. How do you like yours?

That is why I am leaning to the ibook. I do not want to worry about damaging it too easily.

I chose the 14" iBook, cause I wasn't able to justify the cost of the PB. I really like my iBook and do not regret the decision of getting it over the PB at all. One reason I cheaped out on the laptop was because I am buying a G5 sometime this summer :D

What would you have bought if the PB was only 75 more?

If you're talking about the 12"PB versus the 12"iBook, I'd have to say iBook. Unless you absolutely need a superdrive, or DVI or the 1.25Gigs of (pricey) RAM, or the extra 200Mhz the iBook is a much better value for the money.

He's talking about $75 extra.

I'd pay that just to get the metal casing.

The 12" PowerBook also has better speakers, Bluetooth standard, and a better keyboard.

It would be the REV A, 867 combo version of the PB.
