I bought a midrange epson 5 years ago and it works just fine. Just don't install the included software. ImageCapture, which is built into OS X, works perfectly with no other software needed. The Leopard version even lets you program the buttons, I think.

Hey! I didn't even know this existed. I must explore my mac more. 😀

That's my biggest beef with scanners... the crappy software that comes with them.

Great. I didn't even NEED a scanner until I clicked that.

It looks far nicer (aesthetically as well as functionally) than the All-In-One I've got stashed away.

Well now it's in my Amazon cart for the next time I'm placing an order for toys.

I'm currently having trouble with this All-In-One lexmark Printer/Scanner/Photocopier. I wish I could be downstairs using my Dad's Epson scanner but, alas, it is in use!
