Please recommend a Portrait Lens for my Rebel XT

Yet another vote for the 50mm f1.4 . I have two friends who both picked this lens up and they are huge fans. The pictures look amazing. Its a strong upgrade just in build quality from the 50mm f1.8 . You won't go wrong with the 50mm f1.4
