Please recommend a simple photo edit app

Hi,

I have a floor plan that is labelled in one language. that I wish to label in another. The plan has a faint blue background (like this forum), so all I want to do is copy a part of the background with no text on it, paste it over the existing text, then type in the new text.

Any app that anyone can recommend?

Preview would actually suffice (using its annotation tools) from what I understand.

Yes, you can do all that in Preview. Select the area with the mouse then use copy and paste.

Thanks, I did use preview in the end, though it was a bit tedious selecting the paste ranges (the image had lots of strange shapes), but it looked fine in the end.
