today I notice the computer voice now.

I do not play games, just open a few chrome pages, did not open too much applications.

Right now the fan: 1202 RPM,
cpu temperature: 42C
Ambient Temp: 30C

Please share yours, thanks.

[doublepost=1498618395][/doublepost]While running a fairly intense flight simulator: i5, 3.8, 580, 16GB RAM. Very slight fan noise...not bothersome whatsoever.

Maybe another piece of information that can be useful is your ambient temperatures!

Cheers!

This is interesting - the iMac 2017's fans run at the same speed as the 2015 model but seem to be more audible? Can anyone confirm?

Are you trying to confirm your own experience or basing this on things you've heard/read?

I find the fan on my 2017 iMac to be noticeably quieter than the Late 2013 iMac that preceded it.

I'm very intrigued by this. I have a 2011 27" (3.4 quad i7, AMD 6970 2GB) that is certainly aging by now. I'll run these tests if I have a chance because I always thought this machine ran hot - it's cooked the two SSDs I've swapped into it over the years - but maybe the newer ones are worse?? Might have to bite the bullet for the iMac Pro :/
