Sure! I use this:

pmset -g log|grep -e " Sleep " -e " Wake "
Thanks!

I found this upon googling, and the output seems different than what I saw in this thread. (I only grep'd " Wake " but still got a load of stuff.

I'll try it again. I also dumped the output to a text file.

Regards,
R

I found this on my MacBook machines. The way I found to resolve it without having to make changes was to logout before closing the lid to sleep the machine. May not be appropriate for everyone, but easy to implement :)

I've improved my battery usage when slept, but do still see some really weird "wakeups" in the middle of the night, ie after disconnecting from my dock and shutiting the lid last night it wakes at 8pm then again at 0345am

I think that regardless of being in sleep mode your mac will sync with iCloud especially if there are two or more machines with the same iCloud account. So, although you may have only one machine it will still sync with the cloud while resting. Someone mentioned how logging off before sleeping helped. IMOO that should work.

Funny thing is these days after moving from an i5 MacBook Pro to m2 air, I feel my mac loses more battery charge while sleeping than when I’m using! I use it for hours at a stretch for various purpose and the rate of battery dip seems smaller compared to when in sleep mode.

Do you have MS Office installed ?
Yes. Though I dont have an active subscription. I installed it from App Store. Even though I don’t have an active subscription I can do all the work apart from syncing it to OneDrive. I can save the document to my mac, no auto save functionality thats all.
So without an active subscription does the notorious Microsoft background sync drain battery?

Wouldn’t it be the easiest solution to just shut the MacBook down at end of the day? No more bat drain, reduces energy consumption and probably even has psychological benefits (complete the day and start to relax).

It’s not the background sync, it’s the updater that checks for new version. Go to your Login items in Settings and disable it. That’s what caused the drain for me.
