Ongoing thread is a great idea. It opens up the conversation to people with older phones that are still active in the case game.
Glad y’all renamed it to all iPhone models instead of an annual thread- I agreed we need it based on your logic. Especially since some people like me I don’t upgrade every single year and so on, only every few years.
I’m going to be blunt, that’s my biggest issue with MacRumors and why I participate less and less when my devices get older.

I don’t upgrade every year. I don’t update iOS. Every single thread created is about the latest devices. Every single active iOS version subforum is of the latest version.

There comes a point in which I just have absolutely nothing to contribute anymore. Threads about cases: only about the 17 series.
iOS versions: only 26-27 are discussed.
iPads: mostly the latest Pro.

Other forums are far more interesting for people who don’t upgrade every year.

Before upgrading to the 16 Plus last year, I was using the Xʀ on iOS 12, and my time on MacRumors was practically zero. It’s just not relevant to me anymore.

I have the latest 11th-gen A16 iPad and it’s only iPad Pros, there isn’t a single active thread about it.

10/10 agree man… if I upgrade every year I’d be broke. Only if they feel like they r done for reals

I like to keep my devices for a while because they work so well on the original version that I don’t care about new ones, but that’s the whole issue.

This forum is entirely about the latest. I only have the latest every once in a while, and pretty much if they aren’t Pro models they aren’t discussed.

There should be a “non-current devices only” subforum, tbh. I have the 16 Plus now and I’m sure I don’t have a lot of active participation left.

Sad because I really like this forum.
