Pleasee help! Desktop icons missing problem!!

Hi, I've read all the solutions proposed by people with the same problem from this forum, but none of them worked for me. I'm pretty sure it started when I quit "Finder" My desktop items are all gone! I tried restarting, I tried deleting "com.apple.finder.plist" but I didn't have "com.apple.FolderAction.plist" in Library Preferences, so I couldn't do that. I don't know what else to try! And when I search for something that used to be on the desktop (that I remember the full name to), I got no results! Were the items deleted?! I'm pretty sure they weren't though, because nothing in my Trash, and I don't remember emptying it with all that stuff in it! Please help!! 🙁
